What is Early Intervention?
Early intervention is providing therapeutic services to a child with Autism or developmental delays, typically starting as early as two or three years old. During these early years, the brain is still rapidly developing, so it is the perfect time to teach and practice the key developmental skills necessary to help the child learn and develop beyond their disability. This is why early intervention is key to a child’s development and functioning later in life. Early intervention can address things like speech and communication, social skills, gross and fine motor skills, self-care, independence, and more. Applied Behavior Analysis therapy is one of the most used interventions for children with Autism and developmental delays.
Why should I enroll my child into the Early Intervention program?
For children with autism or developmental delays, early intervention is crucial to ensuring they receive the right treatment that helps them develop in healthier ways over time. Our Behavioral Innovation specialists practice evidence-based methods and create data-driven, customized plans based on a child’s thorough evaluation.
Early intervention can have a significant impact on the lives of children with autism or developmental delays. It can improve their overall development, help them develop coping skills and strategies, and have long-term benefits that extend into adulthood. Therefore, it is crucial for parents and caregivers to seek early intervention services for children who have autism or a developmental delay.
When you enroll your child in the Early Intervention program, we will compassionately work with them to help them build skills and achieve developmental milestones. Outcomes of Early Intervention in Children?
Early intervention makes it more likely that a child with autism or a developmental delay will experience positive outcomes during childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. While these disabilities don’t go away, some children who receive early intervention will make so much progress that their symptoms and behavioral issues are drastically improved by middle to late childhood. The goal of early intervention program is to help the child live their best life. Early intervention can help children become verbal, learn how to advocate for themselves, make friends, and develop independence and self-care skills.
Studies show that children who receive early intervention services have better outcomes in communication, socialization, and behavior than those who do not receive intervention.
